Devices and Rules
Devices and Rules (also called slave devices) refer to the southbound devices that connected to NexusIM gateway Interfaces (could be Serial Ports, Ethernet interfaces, IO ports), and typically communicate with the gateway using industrial protocols. Normally they are responsible for collecting data or executing control commands.
Modbus Rules
Modbus Rules refers to a Modbus Command that NexusIM gateway act as a Modbus Master to acquire data from Modbus slave devices. One rule including assigned which interface for slave device, the slave device ID, the Modbus function code, (Read Holding Register) Start address, quantity count, data typeβ¦and other parameters.
ASCII Rules
Use ASCII Rules to configure commands and parse plain-text serial or stream-based payloads from southbound devices into structured sensor tags. Go to Sensor Data > Devices and Rules > ASCII Rules to view and configure ASCII rules.
S7 Rules
S7 Rules refers to configuring the communication rule for NexusIM gateway collect data from Siemens S7 series PLC. Go to Sensor Data >> Devices and Rules >> S7 Rules to view and configure S7 Rules list
FX Rules
Use FX Rules to configure data collection from Mitsubishi FX series PLCs.
MC Rules
The MC protocol is used by Mitsubishi Q series PLCs for data exchange with other devices. Use MC Rules to configure communication between the NexusIM gateway and Mitsubishi Q series PLCs through the MC protocol.
IEC 104 Rules
IEC 104 (IEC 60870-5-104) is a communication protocol used in industrial automation and power systems for remote control, monitoring, and data acquisition. It is based on TCP/IP for transmission.
DNP3 Rules
DNP3 Protocol (Distributed Network Protocol 3) is a widely used communication protocol in power systems and industrial automation for remote monitoring and control.
OPCUA Rules
OPC UA Protocol (OPC Unified Architecture) is a communication protocol designed for industrial automation, enabling interoperability between different devices and systems.
BACnet Rules
BACnet (Building Automation and Control Networks) is a communication protocol designed for building automation and control systems. It supports communication over media such as IP and RS-485.
EtherNet/IP Rules
Use EtherNet/IP Rules to connect to compatible PLCs and industrial controllers, read the required tag values, and map them into the local NexusEdgeGw data model.
Mbus Rules
Use Mbus Rules to collect metering values from supported M-Bus devices and normalize them into tag-based data points.
SNMP Rules
Use SNMP Rules to query SNMP-enabled devices and convert OID values into readable tags within NexusEdgeGw.
IEC62056-21 Rules
Use IEC62056-21 Rules to acquire meter data from compatible devices and expose those values through the local data model.
DLMS Rules
Use DLMS Rules to read structured energy and metering data from DLMS/COSEM devices.
IEC61850 Rules
Use IEC61850 Rules to connect to compatible substations or IEDs and map data attributes into usable tags.
IO
IO (Input/Output) ports on the NexusIM gateway connect to and exchange data with southbound devices through ADC (Analog Input), DI (Digital Input), and DO (Digital Output) interfaces.
System Parameters
System Parameters provides reusable gateway-level values that can be referenced by rules, reporting, and monitoring workflows.
