IEC 104 Rules

IEC 104 (IEC 60870-5-104) is a communication protocol used in industrial automation and power systems for remote control, monitoring, and data acquisition. It is based on TCP/IP for transmission.

Use IEC 104 Rules to configure data collection from IEC 60870-5-104 devices, such as power meters.

Go to Sensor Data > Devices and Rules > IEC104 Rules to view and configure IEC 104 rules.

IEC104 Setting

  1. View the real-time value received from the IEC 104 device during communication.
  2. Edit the added rule.
  3. Delete the added rule.
  4. Add a new rule.
  5. Export or import the rules configuration as a CSV template file. This is useful for configuration backups and batch operations.

Add an IEC 104 Rule​

Click Add to create a new IEC 104 rule.

Add IEC104 Rule

  1. Set the IEC 104 rule order.

  2. Specify the slave device name.

  3. Configure the interface to which the rule applies.

    note

    Select the IEC104 protocol in Interface > TCP Server Settings before configuring an IEC 104 communication rule.

  4. Configure the Tag Name for data returned from the slave device.

  5. Configure the IEC 104 data type ID.

  6. Configure the start IOA address.

  7. Configure the common address.

  8. Specify the reporting center to which the collected data is reported. The number corresponds to Servers > Reporting Server (1-5).

  9. Configure the operator and operand.

  10. Configure the accuracy of the calculated value.

  11. Enable or disable SMS and email reporting. A report is sent to the specified phone number and email address when the value changes or falls outside the configured range.

  12. Enable or disable the rule.
